1. وَلي صَغِيرانِ أَعْرَى مِن سُيُوف وَغىً

    في كَفِّ ذِي حَنَقٍ قَد حَثَّهُ النَّارُ

    I have two small children, vulnerable to the swords of war

    In the grip of an angry man, inflamed by fire

  2. كَسَوْتَني وَكَسَوْتَ العِرْسَ أُمَّهُما

    بَيضاءَ تُشرِقُ فيها مِنكَ أَنْوارُ

    You clothed me and the bride, their mother

    In radiant white, illuminated by your light

  3. عَمَّتْ بِفَضْلِكَ مَن في الدّارِ أَجمَعَهمْ

    حتىَّ تَناوَلَ مِنها حَظَّهُ الجَارُ

    Your grace has spread through all in this house

    Even the neighbor has received his share
