1. قَطَائِفُكَ التي رَقّتْ جُسُوماً

    لِمَا ضِغها كَما فَتَّتْ قُلُوبَا

    Your tears that softened bodies

    For what pained them as hearts were shattered

  2. كَغْيمٍ رَقَّ لِكِنْ فِيهِ قَطرٌ

    غَدَا المَرْعَى الجَدِيبُ بِهِ خَصيبَا

    Like clouds softened but with drops in them

    The barren meadow became fertile with it

  3. فَجَاءَتْ وَهْيَ غَرْقَى راسِباتٌ

    وَلَمْ تُنْكَرْ مَعَ الغرَقِ الرُّسُوبَا

    So they came, necks immersed

    And with the immersion, did not deny the settlement

  4. لَئِنْ رَقّتْ لابِسُها وَحَلَّتْ

    لِعِظْمِ مَحَلِّها الصَّدْرَ الرَّحِيبَا

    If their wearer softened and dissolved

    For the greatness of their place, the vast chest
