1. وَحاسِدٍ مارَقَّ لمَّا رَأَى

    لي حَالةً مَا مَعَها بُقْيَا

    And an envier died of grief when he saw

    That I enjoyed a life that death had not yet marred

  2. قَالَ وإنَّ الحَقَّ في قَولِه

    يَكفِيهِ أَنْ يَحيَا لَهُ يَحيى

    He said, as truth itself bore out his words:

    It suffices him that John should be alive for him
