O Reem arise now and behold

What charms the meadow has displayed

    Her beauty’s graces were concealed

But now the spring has drawn her veil

    A rose portraying blushing cheeks

A narcissus depicting eyes that saw their loved ones

Vegetation like the luster of a pigeon

    Shaking its tail feathers

    Crops resembling soldiers in rows

Baring their blades above their scabbards

As if its exquisite buds have emerged

Like the heads of peacocks swinging their necks

The cypress is mistaken by eyes for a lovesick man

Who has rolled up his sleeves

As if one of the meadow’s breeze fragrances

Is a mole playing with its tendrils

The river was stirred by the meadow’s breeze

Swaying with rapture, drawing up its skirts above it

If I had the means to protect the meadow

Vile men would never have soiled its soil

In a gathering you would only see circling it

    A graceful and cultivated youth

We frolic with a fawn whose spots are unveiled

Only by the palm that contains its sprouts

A palm like a cup held in his hand

A body of light or a soul of love

As if when water flowed from his hand

Into her cup, silver poured onto gold

Let alone silver flowing onto gold

Light from water in a fire of wine

You would think this and that in the cup when combined

Water of white sand onto golden water
