يا شَمسُ يا بدرُ يا نَهارُ

أنتَ لنا جَنَّةٌ ونارُ

Oh sun, oh full moon, oh daylight

You are for us both paradise and hellfire

تَجَنُّبُ الإِثمِ فيكَ إِثمٌ

وخَشيَةُ العارِ فيكَ عارُ

To commit sin in you is sin

And to fear shame in you is shame

يَخلعُ فيكَ العِذارَ قَومٌ

فكيفَ مَنْ مالَهُ عِذارُ

Some take off the garments of decency in you

So what of one who has no decency
