وبيتٍ ظلتُ فيه ضجيجَ وكفٍ
مُبنٍّ ليس يؤذِنُني ببينِ
Many a house have I spent the day in, amid the clamor of dripping rain—
dark and overwhelming, giving me no warning of departure.
إذا بكتِ السماءُ له بعين
بكى هو للسماءِ بألفِ عين
When the sky wept for it with a single eye,
it, in turn, wept for the sky with a thousand eyes.
