You made the bishop's staff a bell
And the bishop's mitre a tambourine
And the patriarch’s beard a quilt
In which you break wind, O Abul-Issa
And God unleashed on the beard
In your face, the razor and the tweezers
If you were thinking of making fun
Or laying the foundations for making fun
Say the same as I said, otherwise tomorrow
Your nose will be set in your weapon, stuffed
O bull who tomorrow
Will make him an ox bellowing
It is ugly in love, it is obscene
That the owl loves the peacock
