Save my eyes from staying up late
Save my heart from overthinking
And from a long night that
Does not exchange length for brevity
I say, when my night is clothed
In the garb of clouds and rain
And sight strays into a night
With no stars or moon
Does this night not have a dawn
That lights the eyes of people
Does the rooster have no news
Does the rooster leave no trace
When will I truly see
My long night for what it is
To me, a sweet night of intimacy
Equals but a glimpse of sight
