يا حاملَ المجمرِ ما حاجتي

إلى بخورٍ وإلى مِجْمَرِ

O carrier of the censer, what need have I

For incense or for censer?

خدُّك فوق النار من صبغِهِ

وَفُوكَ نَشْرُ العودِ والعنبرِ

Thy cheek above the fire takes its dye

From its perfume thy mouth is the dispenser
