O you who eagerly rush to doubt

With loosened reins and slackened girth

    And whom the maidens spurn

Though you have better right to spurn them

If you considered the beauty of our nightly congress,

O son of noble sires and lofty dames

When the Pleiades - clad in ice and fire -

Dispell the darkness with their sparkling rays

You would say, "A herd of gazelles on a feast day

Appeared in yellow and white robes."
