1. أطْيِبْ به يوماً تُزَوَّ

    جُ فيه بالماءِ العُقَارُ

    The day he weds is so sweet

    When water mixes with perfume

  2. والرعدُ يخطبُ من خلا

    لِ الغيمِ والبَرَدُ النِّثارُ

    And thunder preaches from the clouds' pulpit

    To rain and hailstone homilist

  3. في مجلسٍ حَفَّ السرو

    رُ به وَغَشَّاه الدِّثارُ

    In a gathering where cypress tree

    Shelters and shades with its cloak

  4. حازَ الفخارَ أبو الحسي

    نِ ومنه يُقْتَبَسُ الفخارُ

    Potter Abu Al-Husain prevailed

    And from him the pottery was ignited

  5. أخلاقُهُ في المحلِ غَيْ

    ثٌ وهي في الظُّلَمِ النَّهار

    His morals in society are where

    Light exists even in the darkest lair

  6. مَنْ فَرْعُهُ الفَرْعُ النَّضي

    رُ وَعُودُهُ العودُ النُّضَارُ

    A branch whose branch is so fresh

    And a stick that is ever erect

  7. بحرُ الندى ذو راحةٍ

    تَنْدَى إذا يَبِسَ البِحار

    A sea of dew, comforting it is

    When oceans dry, it's still at ease

  8. في دوحةٍ من هاشمٍ

    أيدي الورى عنها قِصار

    In a grove of Hashim

    Where people's hands cannot reach

  9. من حيثُ دُرْتُ بوصفه

    فكأَنَّه الفَلَكُ المُدار

    In describing him, from where I began

    He is like the revolving heavens
