وتداوي وتُمْرِضُ

ناهياً عَنْ هواك مِنْ

حيثُ تَنهى تُحَرِّض

Forbidding your love, yet where

You forbid, you provoke desire

أترى كلَّ مَن أحبَّ

من الناس يُبغض

Do you think everyone I've loved

Among people has come to hate me?

لي دمعانِ مُذْهَبٌ

ذا وهذا مُفَضَّضُ

I have two tears: one wiped away,

This one and that streaming down
