1. ألحاظُها في الحكم مُشْتَطَّهْ

    فَعَدلُها إِن عَدَلت غَلطَهْ

    Her glances in judgment are rash

    So her justice, if she's just, is flawed

  2. وثَغرُها سِمْطٌ من اللؤلؤ ال

    مُغْلي لها الآلُهُ سِمْطَه

    And her mouth is a chink of pearls

    That cannot be outshone by any god

  3. فالحسنُ قد شَنَّفها شِنْفَه

    والحسنُ قد قَرَّطها قُرطه

    Beauty has sculpted her form

    And beauty has cast her molten

  4. لها منَ الصُّدغَين نونان قد

    أجادَ مَن خطَّهما خَطَّه

    On her cheeks are two nun's

    Well-drawn by a skilled hand

  5. إِحداهما بالخال منقوطةٌ

    تُقرَأُ والأخرى بلا نُقطه

    One dotted with a beauty mark

    To be read, the other with no dot
