اسمٌ إذا مُثِّلَ لم يُنْقَطِ

ثلثاهُ ثلثا ثُلْثِهِ الأوْسَطِ

اسمٌ لضدَّيْنِ ولم أعْدُ ما

يُصَحِّحُ المعنى ولم أغْلَط

A name for two opposites, yet I did not repeat

What clarifies the meaning, nor did I err

اسمٌ على قِلَّةِ ألفاظه

إِظهارُ ما أَخفيتُ منه بطي

A name, despite its paucity of words

Reveals what I have concealed of it, unwillingly
