خذْ من عدِّوكَ حِذْرَكْ

ولا تُمَلِّكْهُ أَمْرَكْ

Take caution from your enemy,

And do not give him control over your affairs.

جنِّبه خَيْرَك تَسْلَمْ

منه وجنِّبه شَرَّكْ

Keep your good away from him, so you are safe,

And keep your evil away from him too.

متى سَرَرْتَ عدوّاً

فاعلمْ بأَنْ لن يَسُرّك

When you make an enemy happy,

Know that he will never make you happy.

من حيثُ حاولتَ مفعَ ال

عدوِّ حاولَ ضُرَّك

From wherever you tried to do good

To an enemy, he tried to harm you.

فاستشعرِ الصبرَ تَحْمَدْ

عند العواقِبِ صَبْرَك

So be patient, you will be praised

For your patience in the end.

لا تخزنِ الشرَّ واجعلْ

خِزانةَ الخيرَ صَدْرَك

Do not store evil, but make

The store of good your heart.
