يا طيبَ حمّامنا وخَلْوَته
لي ولضيفٍ أفديه من ضيفِ
O pleasant bathhouse and seclusion
For me and a guest I ransom from a guest
بدا بوجهِ المرآة حين بدا
ثُمَّتَ أبدى مجَرَّد السيف
He appeared with the face of a mirror when he appeared
Then he revealed a bare sword
تحيفُ في مَشيِه أَسافلُهُ
على أعاليه أيَّما حَيف
The bottoms of his walking sway
However much the tops sway
وددتُ أن الحمام لي وطنٌ
مُدَّة عمر الشتاءِ والصيف
I wish the bath was a homeland for me
For the duration of the winter and summer's life
هذا بلا مأثمٍ أُحاذرُهُ
أيْ والصفا والحجون والخيف
This blameless one I am wary of
By purity, pilgrimage, and veil
