صاح عذاراه بي وشاربه

قم فتأمل فأنت صاحبه

His cheek complained of him and his drinking,

Rise and contemplate for you are his companion.

إن كان بدر الدجى يشاكله

فما لبدر الدجى مناقبه

If the full moon of darkness resembles him,

Then the full moon has no virtues.

لا وجنتاه له ولا فمه

ولا له عينه وحاجبه

No, he has no cheeks or mouth for him,

No eyes or eyebrows for him either.

ذاك الذي طالبت محاسنه

بوصله من غدا يطالبه

He whom I sought his beauties,

Will seek to meet him tomorrow.
