1. يا ابنَ أبي أيوبَ يا مُنْتَهى ال

    بهجةِ في الأعينِ والأنفسِ

    O son of Abu Ayyub, O ultimate

    Delight in eyes and souls

  2. آبَ عليٌّ أوبةَ البدرِ بال

    أسعدٍ لمّا آبَ لا الأنْحس

    Ali has set like the full moon in

    The most auspicious setting, not the most inauspicious

  3. فأقمرتْ بل أَشمستْ أوجهٌ

    بوجهِ ذا المقمرِ والمشمس

    Rather, faces have become as radiant as suns

    With the face of the luminous moon and sun

  4. وبعد ذا يا رأسَ أهلِ العلى

    من مُتَحَلٍّ بالعلى مُكْتَسي

    And after that, O head of the people of highness

    Adorned with the most high attire

  5. خيرُ الهدايا منك

    يا خيِّرَ المنبتِ والمغرسِ

    The best gift from you

    O best of all that is planted and sown

  6. طاقُ أديمٍ طائفيٌّ منَ ال

    أنفس في القيمةِ والأنفس

    A piece of leather circumambulating

    Souls in value and souls in essence

  7. منْ تُحَفِ القادمِ مما اصطفى

    يختاره المؤنِسُ للمؤنِس

    Gifts for the newcomer, chosen from what he picked

    As the intimate selects for an intimate

  8. يغلُظُ في السّمكِ وينبو على ال

    عَرْكِ ولا يخشنُ في الملمس

    Thick in density and rising high on the

    Upper part without being coarse to the touch

  9. ومُشرِقٌ ينصرفُ الليلُ عن

    إِشراقِهِ منهزمَ الحِنْدِس

    Luminous, the night retreats from

    Its luminance, defeated darkness

  10. ألْبَسُهُ خُفّاً أُباهي به

    كلَّ مُباهٍ ليَ في الملبس

    I shall wear it as slippers and boast with it

    Against all who boast to me in attire

  11. فخيرُ ما اسْتُهْدِيَ ما لم يزلْ

    مطيَّةَ الموسرِ والمفلس

    So the best gift is what does not cease to be

    A mount for the wealthy and the destitute

  12. يظهرُ في الأرجلِ منْ حُسْنِهِ

    ما ليس للتيجانِ في الأرؤس

    Its beauty appears on the feet

    What crowns do not have on heads

  13. يمشي به الماشي نبيلاً ولا

    يُزْري على الجالسِ في المجلس

    The wearer walks nobly with it

    And does not annoy the one sitting in the gathering

  14. لهُ من الفضلِ على النعلِ ما

    للوَرْدِ من فضلٍ على النَّرجس

    It has over the sandal what

    The rose has over the narcissus in merit
