Did you grant us eyes or burning coals

Did you reveal to us gazes or swords

Eternities or ice or ruby studded

Pearls neatly arrayed

O kin of the apple in color and branch

Of the willow so gentle and jasmine faintly wafting

And if you wish, here is my heart your handmaiden

I see you as nothing but a king

Not a friend as you see me, a friend
