1. خليقٌ أَن يطيرَ إلى مَسِنْيا

    فؤادٌ ليته قد كانَ طارا

    My heart longs to fly to Masinya

    If only it could take wing and soar

  2. خليقٌ أَن يطيرَ إلى مَسِنْيا

    وقاطِنها اشتياقاً وادّكارا

    My heart longs to fly to Masinya

    And dwell there, yearning and in awe

  3. وَيُلْقِي في مغانيها عَصَاهُ

    ويتخذُ الديارَ بها ديارا

    To cast its staff among its meadows

    And make that land its home once more

  4. أمامَ الغيثِ يلعبُ في رباها

    ويخلعُ في ملاعِبها العذارا

    Before the rain it frolics in its pasture

    And sheds its splendid robes and more

  5. يُحَلِّيها الخُزَامى والأقاحي

    ويكسوها الشقائقَ والبهارا

    Adorned with chamomile and wild oats

    Draped in anemones galore

  6. وَيُهدِي لِلَّذَيْنِ بها أقاما

    تحياتي رَواحاً وابتكارا

    Bearing greetings to its dwellers

    Scents and inventions yet before

  7. سَلِيلَي هاشمٍ لا قَرَّ عيناً

    مطيقٌ عند بُعْدِكما قَرارا

    O Hashim's scions, no rest my eye knows

    Without you here, tranquility's no more

  8. لقد جار الزمانُ عليَّ فيما

    جناهُ من فراقِكُما وجارا

    Time has wronged me since we parted

    In the harm of your loss evermore

  9. وسار فما أقامَ جميلُ صبري

    بسيركما فأَجملَ حين سارا

    It marched on, my patience stayed not

    As lovely as when you marched before

  10. سلبتَ أبا محمّدٍ اصطباري

    وهل يُبْقِي ليَ الدهرُ اصطبارا

    You stole my patience, Abu Muhammad

    Can time leave me with patience still in store?

  11. ولستَ ولا أبو عيسى قريباً

    ولا تُدني لنا حَلَبٌ مَزَارا

    Neither you nor Abu Isa are near

    Nor does Halab bring comforts as of yore

  12. وعيني يا وَقَيْتُكُمَا بِعَيْني

    مُعَوَّضةٌ من النَّظَرِ انتظارا

    My eye will await you both steadfastly

    For the gaze's recompense held in store

  13. لئن بكما حَلَتْ أيامُ عَيْشي

    لقد عادَتْ حلاوَتُها مَرارا

    If days were sweet when you were here

    Bitter again their taste is all the more

  14. ولولا أَنْ يسكِّنَ نارَ شوقي

    أبو بكرٍ إِذنْ لازدادَ نارا

    If not for Abu Bakr calming the fires

    Of longing, their flames would roar and soar

  15. لعلَّ الله يجمعكُمْ لعيني

    فيجمعَ لي أمانيَّ الكبارا

    May God reunite you before my eyes

    And unite my greatest hopes once more

  16. فيجمعَ لي بكمْ رُمحاً وسيفاً

    وَسَهماً إِن أردتُ به انتصارا

    Unite my lance, sword and arrow I need

    When triumph in battle I seek to score

  17. فذا جدٌّ وذاك أبٌ وذا ابنٌ

    خِيارٌ حين نَختارُ الخيارا

    The root, branch, and shoot that came to be

    A spring when excellents came to fore

  18. أولاكَ ثلاثةٌ جِذعٌ وَفَرْعٌ

    وَطَلْعٌ صار نبعاً حين صارا

    Abu Isa, did you not see us refuse

    All heedless acts that prudence makes us deplore?

  19. أبا عيسى ألم ترنا كَفَانا ال

    حذارُ عليك مَنْ خَلَقَ الحذارا

    Since you were bent on leaving far away

    We were bent on no visits, even more

  20. عَزَمْنا مذ عَزَمْتَ على التنائي

    على أنْ لا نزورَ ولا نزارا

    Each day our love for you grows yet more dear

    Until you return, as we hope and implore

  21. فنحن إلى إيابِكَ كلَّ يومٍ

    تزيدُ حيالُ أُلفتنا انتشارا

    So turn the vain hopes into fulfillment

    Cast off the veil of blame, weep no more!

  22. فأبْ تَؤُبِ الأماني حاسراتٍ

    قناعَ الذَّنْب عنها والخِمَارا
