  1. رف بَرق الحِجاز وَالدَمع جار

    قَد حَكى نَثره نثار الدراري

    The lightning of Hijaz wept,

    Its tears told the tale of sadness.

  2. رب بَرق رَأَيته مِن بَعيد

    فَشَجاني بِهِ وَهيج ناري

    O lightning I saw you from afar,

    You stirred me up and kindled my fire.

  3. ربع سَلمى مَتى أَرى في حماكم

    ناقع القَلب خالِعاً للعذار

    O land of Salma, when will I see

    My melting heart humbly pleading?

  4. روح اللَه دار سَلمى بغيث

    وَسَقاها بِفَيضه المدرار

    O spirit of God, rain on Salma’s abode

    And water it with your flowing bounty.

  5. ريح تلكَ الدِيار أَطيَب ريح

    وَدِيار الحَبيب خَير دِيار

    The breeze of that land is most fragrant,

    And the abode of the beloved is best.

  6. ردك اللَه أَيُّها القَلب عرج

    لِمَغان بِها كِرام نزار

    May God return you, O heart, visit

    Generous hosts at Mughan's valley.

  7. ردد الشَوق وَالتَحية عَني

    لَعلي الذرى رَفيع المَنار

    Convey my longing and greetings,

    That I may rise high as a minaret.

  8. رَحمة نَص في الكِتاب عَلَيها

    نالتها ما استَطَعت إن كُنت قاري

    In His book, mercy is prescribed for her

    If only she seeks it, and if I recite.

  9. رفع اللَه قَدره وَحَباه

    بِفَخار مُؤكد بِفَخار

    God raised his status and granted him

    Pride, confirmed with pride.

  10. راحَتي وقفة هُناك بذل

    عَل أَن تَنطَفي هُناك جِماري

    My comfort is to stand there, make effort

    To expire there, though my horses tire.
