1. سَرَت بِهجة الأَرواح في البر وَالبَحر

    بعرس أَمين اللَه ذي المَجد وَالفَخر

    Joy spread in the land and sea

    At the wedding of God's trustee, of glory and pride

  2. وَعطرت الآفاق من طيب نَشره

    لما نَشقت مِن عُرسهِ أَطيب العطر

    And horizons were fragrant from the scent it dispersed

    When the most fragrant scent burst from his wedding

  3. بِناء بَنى فَوق القُلوب مَسرة

    مَدى الدَهر تَعلو فَوق أَجنحة النسر

    He built, atop hearts, a happiness

    That soars above the wings of eagles through time

  4. قران تَلاقى فيهِ شَمس وَنير

    إِذا قيل بَدر كانَ أَبهى مِن البَدر

    A pairing of sun and moon

    If called full moon, it’s brighter than the full moon

  5. مِن النَفر السامين في كُل مَوطن

    وَجوههم في الناس كَالأَنجُم الزُهر

    Of the sublime souls in every place

    Their faces among people like shining stars

  6. توطن في الحَدباء حَتّى تَشَوقت

    لَهُ البَلدة الزَوراء في آخر الأَمر

    He dwelled in Hadebaa until it longed

    For him, the little barren town, in the end

  7. فَجاءَ لَها كيما تَفوز بِقُربه

    وَهمته الكُبرى وَنائله الوَفر

    So he came to it, for it to gain by his nearness

    And his great hopes and abundant attainment

  8. فَأَخصب مِنها كُل دار وَأَقبَلَت

    إِلَيهِ بِوَجه باسم السن وَالثغر

    So every house became fertile through him and turned

    To him with a face smiling with age and youth

  9. فَأكرمه وَالمَولى الوَزير الَّذي مَحَت

    صَوارمه رجس الغواية وَالكُفر

    So the Minister honored him, he who erased

    The filth of misguidance and blasphemy with his swords

  10. وَأنزله في مصره وَجواره

    فَبورك مِن جار وَبورك مِن مصر

    And lodged him in his Egypt and neighborhood

    So blessed was the neighbor and blessed the lodging

  11. وَوالى عَلَيهِ لُطفه وَأَحله

    مَحلاً شَريف الحَد مُرتفع القَصر

    And he bestowed on him his kindness and settled him

    In a noble, lofty palace

  12. وَحاول أَن يَبقى عَزيزاً مُكرماً

    لَدَيهِ وَيَبقى عِندَهُ وافر القَدر

    And strove that he remain honored and esteemed

    By him, and remain of abundant merit with him

  13. فَأَولاه مِن كنز المَحاسن درة

    محجبة تَسمو عَلى الكَوكب الدري

    So he gave him a jewel of virtues concealed

    Rising above the starry orb

  14. وَطَوقه في نَحره عقد جَوهر

    فَيا حسن ذاكَ العقد في ذَلِكَ النَحر

    And clasped around his neck a gemstone necklace

    Beautiful that necklace on that neck

  15. وَأَلبَسَهُ في كَفه خَير خاتم

    فراق لأَن الدُر يحسن في البَحر

    And placed on his hand the best ring

    Parting is best, for pearls are finest in the sea

  16. ليهنك عُرس فيهِ مَجد وَسُؤدد

    وَسَعد بَدا في ضمنه طالع اليُسر

    To delight him a wedding of glory and fortune

    And good fortune appeared within it, rising fortune

  17. تَأَلَّق مِن إِيماضه كُل حالك

    مِن الدَهر فَابيضت بِهِ أَوجه الدَهر

    Every horizon shone from its glimmer

    So the epochs whitened through it

  18. وَأَخصَب وَجه الأَرض مِن نوته الَّذي

    كفينا بِهِ عَن وابل الغَيث وَالقطر

    And the face of earth became fertile from his clouds that

    Sufficed us against rain showers and droplets

  19. وَنَورت الأَشجار مِن طَرَب كَما

    تَحَركَت الأَقطار بِالحلل الخُضر

    And trees shone from joy, as

    The regions quivered with green garments

  20. عَقيلة مَجد زَفها رائد الهَنا

    إِلَيك أَمين اللَه يا بَهجَة العَصر

    A glorious bride brought to you, O pride of the age

    Trustee of God, O delight of the time

  21. تَهن بِها هنيت بِالعز وَالعُلى

    وَبَذل الحلى وَالحلي وَالبيض وَالصفر

    Rejoice with her, rejoice with might and sublimity

    And giving adornments, jewelry, whites, and yellows

  22. لَك انفلَقَت مِن عالم الحُسن غرة

    كَما انفَلَقَ الصُبح المُنير مِن الفَجر

    For you a pearl split from the world of beauty

    As dawn splits shining from the horizon

  23. وَزد أَربَعاً وَاجمَع هَديك مُؤرخاً

    تَهن أَمين الفَعل بِالكَوكَب الدري

    And add four and date your gift recording

    “Trustee of deeds was delighted with the starry orb”
