1. أَتاكَ اللَه بِالفَرج الجلي

    وَحفك مِنهُ بِالنور المضي

    God has granted you manifest relief

    And surrounded you with radiant light

  2. نَجَوت وَلا تَزال الدَهر ناج

    فَصرت كَصاحب الطور النجي

    You survived and will forever remain protected

    Thus you became like the saved companion of Al-Tur

  3. وَأَبقى اللَهُ عُمرك في سُرور

    بِعَيش مخصب رَغد نَقي

    May God make your life ever pleasant

    With prosperous, pure livelihood

  4. أَمثلك مَن تَميل بِهِ اللَيالي

    وَتَرفع كُل ذي فعل رَدي

    One like you, whom the nights are inclined towards

    And every ignoble person looks up to

  5. لَقَد أَرضيت كُل الناس طراً

    وَليسَ سِواكَ يُدعى بِالرَضي

    You have pleased all people without exception

    And none but you deserves to be called pleased

  6. وَهَل يَغشاك مِن حَي غبار

    وَأَنتَ صَفينا مِن كل حَي

    Can any living thing's dust touch you?

    While you are our pristine pearl

  7. سَأَلحق مَن يَسؤوك كُل نصب

    لأَني في العَوارض لام كي

    I will take revenge on those who wrong you

    For I do not tolerate harm upon the eminent

  8. وَأقلع كُل ناب فيهِ سُم

    يَصول بِهِ عَلى شَهم زَكي

    And pull out the fang of every snake

    That dares attack the honorable and pure

  9. وَلا مَن عَليك بِكُل حال

    فَإنك صاحب الفَضل العلي

    None can approach your superiority

    For you possess the highest merit

  10. أَأَنسى وَدكم في كُل آن

    وَأَني لَستُ أدعى بِالنَسي

    Can I forget your friendship at any time?

    When I am not called the forgetful one

  11. جَزاكَ اللَهُ خَيراً عَن نِظام

    يزان بِلفظك الغَض الطَري

    May God reward you well for composing

    Poems that delight the heart and mind

  12. لَقَد أَزرت فَصاحته بقس

    وَأَزرى فَضله بالبُحتري

    Your eloquence matches Al-Farazdaq

    And your excellence rivals Al-Buhturi

  13. وَأرضى كُل ذي سَمع وَعَقل

    فَما يَدري الذَكي مِن الغَبي

    Pleasing every person of intellect

    For the wise cannot be discerned from the ignorant

  14. تدار كُؤوسه في كُل وَقت

    فَيعبق عَنكَ بِالعطر الذكي

    Your cups are passed around at all times

    Exuding a delightful fragrance

  15. رَوى عَنكُم أَحاديثاً صحاحاً

    مُسلسلة بِإسناد قَوي

    You have narrated authentic accounts

    In an unbroken chain and sound transmission

  16. عَن الخل الحَبيب وَإِن تَنائى

    عَن الزاكي المكرم عَن سمي

    About the beloved friend, though far

    From the virtuous and noble

  17. كَريم الأَصل مِن قَومٍ كِرام

    حَماه اللَه عَن أَصل دَني

    Of noble origin and ancestry

    God protected him from lowly roots

  18. أَنافَ عَلى الوَرى بِجَميل فعل

    وَأفضال وَكف حاتِمي

    He brought goodness to the world

    With generosity and a hand like Hatim

  19. إِذا ذكرت مَناقبهم فَعجل

    بِعَبد اللَه ذي القَلب التَقي

    When I mention their virtues, I am quick

    To Abdullah, of the devout heart

  20. وَحَدث ما تَشاء فَذاكَ بَحر

    بِهِ مِن كُل مَطعوم شَهي

    Speak what you wish, for he is an ocean

    Containing all manner of sweetness

  21. أَيُحصى فَضله في الكَون مثن

    بِإنشاء القَوافي وَالرَوي

    Can his merit in existence be counted?

    Through prose or verse composition

  22. لعمرك أَو يَفي في الناس تال

    بِمَدح الفاضل المَولى الوَفي

    By your life! Or can the eulogies of people

    Do justice to the loyal eminent one?

  23. فَهُناك الإِله بِكُل لُطف

    بسيدنا النَبي الهاشمي

    For it is God in His benevolence

    To our master the prophet, the Hashimi

  24. وَصانَك مِنهُ في حصن حَصين

    وَحفك مِنهُ بِالنور المُضي

    He protected you in an impenetrable fortress

    And surrounded you with radiant light
