Take your time, O noble man,
Slow down, O generous man,
And visit a grave where the wise scholar lies.
And visit a grave wherein lies the wise scholar.
And solemnly greet an imam,
Greet with dignity the Imam,
Beneath whose grave's earth lie hidden branches of learning.
Beneath whose dust lies vast knowledge.
A young man called Ibrahim, but
A youth called Ibrahim, though
His father is al-Mustafa, the righteous, the merciful.
His father is the Chosen One, the Kind.
An imam, Hashimite and Haydari,
A Hashemite, Haydari Imam,
Possessing age-old honor and benefactions.
With ancient nobility and virtues.
A lineage higher than the lofty, blazing stars,
Carpenter who reached the highest glories,
And knowledge surpassing the immense sea.
And knowledge beyond the vast ocean.
The passing nights made his tomb decay,
The passing nights harmed his tomb,
So the handsome young Umar restored it.
So restore it, O noble youth.
Pious, pure, virtuous, trustworthy,
Pure, devout, honest trustee,
Learned, practicing what he knows, a luminary, forbearing.
Learned, just, forbearing scholar.
He loves the righteous, and that one is among them,
Who loves the righteous, and that is
And love for them is a straight path.
The straight path for him to take.
So he raised their domes with generosity and munificence,
So he rebuilt their domes generously
In Baghdad, though all of them have turned to dust.
In Baghdad and elsewhere in disrepair.
So rise and behold a building like pearls;
Rise and see a structure like glimmering nights,
The stars gleam above its masonry.
Its tiles sparkling like stars.
Remove our suffering, alone, and record the date:
Remove from us distress, and record
A building before which momentous tidings pale.
A feat below which great tales pale.
