ما زِلتُ أُنكِرُ بَعدَ عِرفانِ الهَوى

عِندَ الوُشاةِ عَلى الهَوى عِرفاني

I still deny, after knowing love,

My knowing of love to the slanderers.

وَأُبَيِّنُ عَن وَلَهي بِهِ وَلَهاً لَهُم

حَتّى كَتَمتُ الحُبَّ عَن كِتماني

And I clarify my infatuation with it and with her to them

Until I have concealed love from my concealment.
