1. لَو كانَتِ النَفسُ بِالآلاتِ مُدرِكَةً

    لَم تَلقَ بِالنَومِ لا نُعمى وَلا بوسا

    If the soul could perceive with instruments

    It would not encounter in sleep either bliss or a kiss

  2. وَلا رَأَت مُقتَضى الرُؤيا بِيَقظَتِها

    مِن بَعدِ ما كانَ الإِماكانُ مَحسوسا
