يا حُسناً ظاهِرُهُ
باطِنُ مَعنى الحُسنِ
O beauty whose outward form
is the inward meaning of beauty,
وَجَدانُ قَلبي لَكَ قَد
أَوجَبَ فَقدِيَ مِنّي
the rapture of my heart for you has
made me lose myself.
يا مُشهِدي مِن حُسنِهِ
ما غِبتُ فيهِ عَنّي
O you who show me, from his beauty,
that wherein I vanished from myself,
حاشاكَ أَن يَخيبَ في
حُسنِكَ حُسنُ ظَنّي
far be it from you that, in
your beauty, my fair trust should fail.
