الحَقُّ في الخَلقِ خَلقُ
وَالخَلقُ في الحَقِّ حَقُّ
The truth is truth in creation
And creation is truth in truth
وَالفَتقُ في الرَتقِ رَتقُ
وَالرَتقُ في الفَتقِ فَتقُ
Separation lies in union
And union lies in separation
وَالشَرقُ في الغَربِ غَربُ
وَالغَربُ في الشَرقِ شَرقُ
The East lies in the West
And West lies in the East
وَالنُطقُ في الصَمتِ صَمتُ
وَالصَمتِ في النُطقِ نُطقُ
Speech lies in silence
And silence lies in speech
وَالبَرقُ في الغَيمِ غَيمٌ
وَالغَيمِ في البَرقُ بَرقُ
Lightning lies in clouds
And clouds lie in lightning
وَالفَرقُ لِلجَمعِ جَمعٌ
وَالجَمعُ لِلفُرقِ فَرقُ
Difference unites
And union differentiates
صَريحُ قَولي المُعَمّى
عَن كُلِّ فَهمٍ يَدُقُّ
My words, though clear
Are beyond comprehension
وَفَهمُ حالي لِغَيري
عَلى العُقولِ يَرِقُّ
And comprehending my state
Transcends intellect
وَفي سَحابي ماءٌ
هامَ وَثَلجٌ وَوَدقُ
In my clouds is water
Hail, snow and drizzle
وَعَينُ مَغرِبِ شِمسي
لِمائِها الدَهرُ دَفقُ
And the sun's setting eye
Eternally sheds its tears
وَقَد حَماها حِماها
إِذا فيهِ لِلعَينِ حَرقُ
It protects them, shields them
Though to the eye there is burning
حَديثُ وَجدي قَديمٌ
لَهُ عَلى السَبقِ نَسقُ
My love is ancient
Yet ever renewed
وَسِرُّهُ في فُؤادي
ما عَنهُ لِلخَلقِ نَسقُ
Its secret lies in my heart
Beyond telling to people
فَلَيسَ يَعرِفُ عُرفي
مَن مالِهِ فيهِ نَشقُ
None knows my inner state
Whose way differs from mine
وَلا يُصَدِّقُ قَولي
مِن مالِهِ فيهِ صِدقُ
Nor believes my words
Whose truth differs from mine
وَلَيسَ يَشهَدُ غَيبي
في الخَلقِ إِلّا المُحِقُّ
None in creation bears witness
To my unseen, save the True
حُروفُ إِسمي بِسَعدِ الس
سُعودِ في الأُفقِ وَفقُ
The letters of my name in fortune
Rise in the horizon, aligned.
