بِنَقطٍ زادَ في الخَطِّ

يُبينُ النَقصَ في الشَكلِ

With dots he added to the script

Revealing flaws in the shape

وَلَولا الحَرفُ ما بانَ

باسِمَ اللَحنِ في الفِعلِ

Without the letter it wouldn’t be clear

In the name of melody in the verb

وَلا صارَ وَقَد كانَ

لَبيباً تابَعَ الجَهلَ

It wouldn’t have become though it was
