يا غادِرينَ بِمَن وَفي

وَرَعى العُهودَ بِمُقلَتَيهِ

O you who deserted the faithful one

Who kept pacts with his eyelashes

ضَيَّعتُم عَهدَ الَّذي

حُفِظَت عُهودِكُم لَدَيهِ

You broke the pact of him

Whose pacts were kept safe with him

وَطَلَبتُمُ الإِحسانَ مِن

هُ عَلى إِساءَتِكُم إِلَيهِ

And sought kindness from one

Whom you did evil unto

وَلَهُ عَلَيكُم مِثلُ ما

فَرَضَ الغَرامُ لَكُم عَلَيهِ

And he has a right over you like what

Obligation imposed upon you over him
