1. وَبَدرُ دُجى شِعرِ مَتى بَرَقَت بِهِ

    شُموسُ الحُمَيّا أَشرَقَت مِن مُحَيّاهُ

    When the moons of his cheek flash their brilliance

    From his face's crescent their light appears

  2. صَفاهُ بِهِ يَبدو لِرائيهِ وَصفَهُ

    فَلَو جالَ فيهِ الفِكرَ لِلعَينِ جَلّاهُ

    His fairness by it is seen by beholders

    And if mind looked upon it, it would elucidate it

  3. فَلا لَطَفَ إِلّا وَهوَ جِسمٌ لِلُطفِهِ

    وَمَعنى مَعاني الكُلِّ في الكُلِّ مَعناهُ

    So no grace but is body to its gracefulness
