ذِكرُ الفَتى آيَةُ نِسيانِهِ

وَشَوقُهُ عُنونُ هِجرانِهِ

The youth's mention is a sign of his being forgotten

And his longing is a title of his estrangement

وَلَيسَ بِالكاتِمِ سَرَّ الهَوى

مَن عَرَّفَ الناسَ بِكِتمانِهِ

And he who makes known to people the secret of his love

Is not one who conceals the passion within him
