1. Ah, if only the riding-camels would stand still

    Beside us, neither journeying nor moving away,

  2. So a sound resolve of yours might sicken,

    And with it, an ailing heart might recover;

  3. And we might delight in a union unthreatened

    By separation or ruthless time.

  4. For the watering place of its life is ever brimming,

    And the pasture of its companionship is ever lush,

  5. In safety, where nothing forbidden becomes lawful,

    And in might, whose sanctuary is never violated,

  6. And in pleasure unmingled with anguish,

    Nor is any creditor ever put off there.
