كَتبتُ وَخَطّي مَن أَذى السُقمِ شاهِد
بِأَنَّ بَناني مِن أَذى السُقمِ مَرتَعِش
I wrote, and my handwriting bears witness to the pain of illness,
To the fact that my fingers tremble from illness’s pain.
وَنَفسي إِن تَأمُر تَعش في سَلامَةٍ
فَأُهدِ لَها مِنكَ السُكونُ وَمن تَعِش
And my soul, if you command, will live in safety;
