بِأَبي غَزالٌ نامَ عَن وَصبي بِهِ
وَمُراقُ دَمعي بِالنَوى وَصَبيبِهِ
By my father a gazelle slept away from her fawn
And my streaming tears at the ruins and their downpour
يا لَيتَهُ يَرثي عَلى وَلَهي بِهِ
لِغَرامِ قَلبي في الهَوى وَلَهيبِهِ
Would that he lament over my infatuation with it
For the love of my heart in passion and its blaze
