1. دَعِ الحِرصَ وَاِقنَع بِالكَفافِ مِنَ الغَنى

    فَرزقُ الفَتى ما عاشَ عِندَ مَعيشِهِ

    Abandon greed, and be content with sufficiency out of prosperity

    For the livelihood of a young man is with his life

  2. وَقَد يُهلِكُ الإِنسانَ كَثرَةَ مالِهِ

    كَما يُذبَحُ الطاووسُ مِن أَجلِ ريشِهِ

    And the abundance of his wealth may destroy a man

    As the peacock is slaughtered for the sake of its feathers
