Welcome, gazelle sheltered by a palace,
A greeting to a gazelle protected by a palace
Like a paradise filled with bliss.
Like a garden containing bliss
I visited him by night, fearing no harm;
I approached without fearing harm
His love opened the sanctuary to me.
His love permitted me the sanctum
Then he bestowed wine on me from his mouth,
So he generously gave me from his mouth a breeze
With which he quenched a long-standing fire.
That cured an old burning inside me
I would give my life for a fire that granted me saliva—
I ransom a burning that permitted a breeze
No, rather, a sanctuary that granted me a white gazelle.
No, but a sanctum permitted a loving one
