And a young gazelle—I have come to deem him too noble
And the nightingales have become captives of his love
to undertake the service of his masters.
Unwilling to serve anymore save their captor
Oh, how I marvel at the magic of his glances,
How wondrous is the magic of his glances
and the magic of glances by which we were bewitched!
And the magic of eyes we're enchanted by
Can he serve others—he whose
Can he really serve the people, when his lashes
eyelids have pressed every distinguished youth into service?
Have enslaved every valiant youth they spy?
