يا مَلِكا قَد أَصبَحت كَفُّهُ
ساخِرَةً بِالعارِضِ الهاطِلِ
Oh king whose palm
Is burning with pouring scorn
قَد أَقحَمَتني مِنهُ مِثلُها
يُضَيِّق القَولَ عَلى القائِل
It plunges me like it
Constricting words on the speaker
وَإِن أَكُن قَصّرت عَن وَصفِها
فَحُسنُها عَن وَصفِها شاغِلي
And if I fell short of describing it
Its beauty preoccupies me from describing it
