Is your tryst the early dawn, to free
My fettered grief and set it fleeing?
When you left, endurance went from me;
Parting has sundered, dear ones, you and me.
You left, and grief clothed me in mourning black.
I yearned so sorely to be with you back.
Midst the Ban’s boughs I lay, and yearned again,
Like swords enclosed in sheaths that cause them pain.
