مِن عاشِقٍ يَشكو صَباباتِهِ
إِلى مَحبٍّ هائِمٍ مِثلِهِ
From a lover complaining of his trials
To a friend who suffers likewise,
كِلاهُما صَبٌّ إِلى إِلفِهِ
حَرّانُ ظَمآنُ إِلى وَصلِهِ
Both consumed with yearning for their beloved,
Burning with thirst for their union.
يا رَبّ عَجّل جَمعَ هَذا بِذا
وَقَرّب الشَكلَ إِلى شَكلِهِ
O Lord, hasten to bring this one to that,
And join each form to its likeness.
