Blessings beckon, while in my heart confusion stirs,
Should the wise be swayed by fools?
Oh my hands, restrain yourselves, for I am a lover,
Whose passion cannot be dissuaded.
A love has settled in my heart and soul,
Neither overflowing, nor ready to depart.
Oh graceful gazelle, you have stolen Muhammad’s heart,
Does the fierce lion not frighten you?
Let none doubt that I am lovesick and infatuated,
For my devotion is proven.
A complexion the color of yellow chiffon, and teary eyes,
Pouring down like rainclouds, on a frail body.
