مَتّى ما تُخالِط عالَمَ الإِنسِ لا يَزَل

بِسَمعِكَ وَقرٌ مِن مَقالِ سَفيهِ

When you mingle with people, ceaseless

Din strikes your ears from the speech of a fool.

إِذا ما الفَتى لَم يَرمِ شَخصَكَ عامِداً

بِكَفَّيهِ عَن ضَغنٍ رَماكَ بِفيهِ

When a youth doesn't try to insult you intentionally

With his hands, out of rancor he insults you with his mouth.

وَقَد عَلِمَ اللَهُ اِعتِقادي وَإِنَّني

أَعوذُ بِهِ مِن شَرِّ ما أَنا فيهِ

And God knows my belief, and I

Seek refuge in Him from the evil I am in.
