إِذا صَاحَبتَ في أَيّامِ بُؤسٍ

فَلا تَنسَ المَوَدَّةَ في الرَخاءِ

When hardship's days have made you friends

Do not forget that friendship in your ease

وَمَن يُعدِم أَخوهُ عَلى غِناهُ

فَما أَدّى الحَقيقَةَ في الإِخاءِ

He who denies his brother in his riches

Has not fulfilled the true laws of brotherhood

وَمَن جَعَلَ السَخاءَ لِأَقرَبيهِ

فَلَيسَ بِعارِفٍ طُرُقَ السَخاءِ

He who reserves his bounty for his kin

Does not know bounty's paths as he should
