إِذا أَمِنتَ عَلى مالٍ أَخا ثِقَةٍ

فَاِحذَر أَخاكَ وَلا تَأَمَن عَلى الحُرَمِ

When you entrust wealth to a trusted brother

Beware of your brother, do not trust sanctity

فَالطَبعُ في كُلِّ جيلٍ طَبعُ مَلأَمَةٍ

وَلَيسَ في الطَبعِ مَجبولٌ عَلى الكَرَمِ

For nature in every generation is the nature of affliction

And nature is not endowed with generosity
