Have you not seen poetry take flight, ignited
To soaring heights no commentaries can reach?
Blessed is He who controls all things; none can refuse
What He desires, nor stop what He releases.
Swords with yearning blades both scabbing and bloodied;
Horses on whom both wet and dry saddlecloth lie.
While Time's face glows dark and man laughs lighthearted,
Mockingly, though faces about him storm and sigh.
He sickened of men's talk and all their confusion,
Till he silenced them - no voice now dares arise.
Chilly clothes are but loans to man, my God!
Truly, they have wearied him, their wear and guise!
