  1. And He has commanded us to contemplate His wondrous works;

    yet if a company contemplates Him, they stray from the faith.

  2. The partisans of every dispute cling to it;

    whenever they see the manifest light of truth, they deny it.

  3. Time’s vicissitudes are monarchs, with quarry of their own;

    humanity is wild game, and the chase has brought it low.
