How mighty is He who with death turned back our wealthy and poor alike
As well as our settled folk and wanderers!
How swift is change! If the crescent moon is touched
By its mirage, the night grows intensely dark.
Salvation from sickness is beyond reach. The image of
The shining moon turns into a thin crescent.
Are you amazed by the new-born babe in his cradle
Who moved without walking or riding any mount?
He lived for two days, was given a third,
Then rested from the shifting days.
How many a year has his father walked! Oh how
He crossed the distance in but three stages!
The seas' barriers were lifted for him and he lived through them
And survived to arrive safe on shore.
