تَرجو يَهودُ المَسيحَ يَأتي
وَتَأمُلُ الدَهرَ أَن يَهودا
The Jews long for the Messiah to come
And time hopes for a Judas
وَكَيفَ تُرعى لَهُم عُهودٌ
مِن بَعدِ ما ضَيّيَعوا العُهودا
And how can pacts be kept for them
After they have squandered their pacts
وَكُلُّ ما عِندَهُم دَعاوٍ
حَتّى يَقيموا بِهِ الشُهودا
And all they have are claims
To establish witnesses with them
غَدَوا وَأَشياخَهُم لِجَهلٍ
كَوِلدَةٍ أَوطَنوا المُهودا
Their elders in the morning are ignorant
Like a woman who bore disgrace
وَلَيسَ بَيتي عَلى الرَوابي
وَإِنَّما آلَفُ الوهودا
My house is not on the hills
Rather, I befriend the lonely
