1. تَسريحُ كَفِيَّ بُرغوثاً ظَفِرتُ بِهِ

    أَبُرُّ مِن دِرهَمٍ تُعطيهِ مُحتاجا

    My hand releasing a flea I had captured

    Is dearer than giving a coin to one in need

  2. لا فَرقَ بَينَ الأَسَكَّ الجَونِ أُطلِقُهُ

    وَجَونِ كِندَةَ أَمسى يَعقُدُ التاجا

    No difference between freeing the light brown prisoner

    Or the darkcomplected Kindah wearing a crown

  3. كِلاهُما يَتَوَقى وَالحَياةُ لَهُ

    حَبيبَةٌ وَيَرومُ العَيشَ مُهتاجا

    They both desire life and it is dear to them

    A beloved thing while seeking life ardently
